Guided Tour – Regularization of Status For Illegal Tourism Enterprises – Registration And Licensing Of Tourism Enterprises And Payment Of 1% Tourism Levy

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) needs to tell all tourism enterprises working with no legitimate registration and license from the Authority to regularize their operations by thirty first Could, 2022.
The Authority will embark on a nationwide enforcement train to clamp down on all unlawful tourism enterprises in June, 2022.
The Ghana Tourism Authority is remitted by regulation underneath the Tourism Act, 2011 (Act 817) to register and licence all tourism enterprises. (i.e. Accommodations, Spas, Visitor Homes, Serviced Flats, Hostels, Residence Lodges, Eating places, Quick Meals Joints, Conventional Catering Institutions (Chop Bars), Consuming Bars, Journey Companies, Film Homes, Occasion Centres, Leisure Centres, Banquet Halls, Convention Services, Pubs, Evening Golf equipment, Tour Corporations, Automobile Leases, and so on).
All Tourism Enterprises together with residences, working “AirBnB” with no legitimate license from the Authority, contravene part 25(2) of the Tourism Act, 2011 (Act 817) and could have their institutions closed down and sanctioned.
All licensed Tourism Enterprises should additionally pay excellent levies earlier than the graduation of the enforcement train.
